Kotpad handloom fabric - The Organic Cloth of Odisha
Kotpad Handloom is a vegetable dyed fabric handwoven by the tribal weavers of kotpad village in koraput district, Odisha, India.
Kotpad is rough to touch, yet soft on the skin and completely organic. This fabric is woven in both fabric by the Mirgan community.
They weaved the cotton sarees with beautiful pata Anchal, dupatta with buti motifs, Stole on cotton and silk fabric and dress material are all dyed with organic dyes.
The natural dyes is manufactured from the aul tree grown in this area. A simple weaving technique that now rules the handloom textile industry like no other.
